Why Possession Does Not Win Matches

Possession only matters where it happens. In our Tiki-Taka mini, passes made in front of the pressing defender score the same as passes into space — but only passes into space keep you alive. Real football works the same: a team with 35% possession that plays forward wins more than a team at 65% passing sideways. Possession is a tool, not a trophy.
